SMS messaging, in plain English.

These terms apply when you opt in to receive text messages from Bay Ridge Dermatology. Required disclosures under federal law and our wireless carriers.

1. Program Description

Bay Ridge Dermatology operates a Short Message Service ("SMS") program to send text messages to patients and prospective patients who have opted in. By opting in, you consent to receive recurring text messages from us at the mobile number you provided.

2. Types of Messages You May Receive

  • Appointment confirmations
  • Appointment reminders
  • Replies to inquiries you submit via our contact form
  • Account and treatment updates relevant to you
  • Occasional promotional offers, practice news, and educational content

3. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your activity and interactions with our practice. You may receive transactional messages (such as appointment reminders) as needed, and promotional messages no more than a few times per month.

4. Cost

Bay Ridge Dermatology does not charge a fee for SMS messages. However, message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. Check with your carrier for details about your plan.

5. How to Opt In

You can opt in to our SMS program by:

  • Checking the SMS consent box on our contact form
  • Providing written consent during your appointment
  • Texting our practice and confirming when prompted

Your opt-in is voluntary. You can use our services, book appointments, and contact our practice without opting in to SMS messages.

6. How to Opt Out

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any text message we send you. After replying STOP, you will receive one final message confirming your unsubscription, and you will not receive further messages from our SMS program. You can re-subscribe at any time using the same opt-in methods.

8. Supported Carriers

Our SMS program is compatible with major U.S. wireless carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Boost Mobile, Cricket Wireless, MetroPCS, Virgin Mobile, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

9. Privacy and Data

We treat your mobile number and SMS messages as confidential personal information. We will never sell, rent, or share your phone number or SMS opt-in data with any third party for their marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we collect and use your information.

10. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to opt in to our SMS program. By opting in, you confirm that you are the account holder of the mobile number provided, or that you have the account holder's permission to opt in.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active SMS subscribers. Continued participation in the SMS program after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
