Your first visit, step by step.
Here's exactly what happens from the moment you book to the moment you leave — and what to expect afterward.

Book
Book online through our NexHealth portal, or call (347) 497-4984 and we'll match you with the right provider and time. Same-day and same-week appointments are available.
- Step 02
Paperwork
After you book, you'll get a link to complete your new-patient intake online. This includes your medical history, current medications, and the reason for your visit. Doing this ahead of time saves you time at check-in.
- Step 03
Insurance verification
We verify your insurance before your visit. Please be aware of your co-pay, co-insurance, or deductible, as well as whether prior authorization is needed — this is the patient's responsibility.
- Step 04
The day of
Arrive a few minutes early. Bring your insurance card, photo ID, and a list of any topicals or medications you've already tried. If your visit is a full-body skin exam, you'll change into a medical gown — bring or wear something easy to get in and out of.

The exam
Your provider will spend time understanding your history, your concerns, and your goals before examining your skin.
- Step 06
Your plan
By the end of your visit, you'll have a clear plan — whether that's a prescription, a treatment scheduled for a return visit, or a recommendation that nothing needs to be done.
- Step 07
Follow-up
For most conditions, we schedule a follow-up to see how things are working and adjust if needed.
A short packing list.
You don't need much for your first visit, but a few things make it go smoother.
- Insurance card and photo ID
- A list of any topicals or medications you've tried for the concern
- Photos of the concern at its worst, if it comes and goes
- A list of questions you want to ask
- If a minor, both pieces of ID for the accompanying guardian
